Testing, simulation and virtual commissioning of control systems
We test PLC, HMI and SCADA systems before they reach production – in simulation, against a remote test line or at pilot sites. On-site commissioning gets shorter, and faults are found where they are cheapest to fix.

Common situations we help with
- The commissioning window is short and there is no time to hunt for faults on site
- The line is built or tested in another country, but the control system has to be ready before it arrives
- New software versions are rolled out to many sites and have to work at every one of them
- Communication between machines, PLCs and SCADA/MES has to be verified before start-up
- You need an independent party to test at FAT and SAT
Services
What we deliver
From simulation at the desk to verification in a live environment.
- Virtual commissioning – the PLC program is tested against simulated or remotely connected equipment before installation
- Simulation of signals and processes – S7-PLCSIM/PLCSIM Advanced, Factory I/O and custom models, simulated tags and devices in Ignition
- Test plans, test cases and test reports for FAT and SAT – for the supplier or the customer
- System testing and regression testing of new software versions – in the lab and at pilot sites
- Verification of communication, statuses, sensor values, production counters and traceability data towards SCADA/MES
- Fault reports with clear steps to reproduce, so the supplier can fix the issue straight away
Virtual commissioning in practice
In an automotive project, our PLC (Siemens S7-1500) was connected via VPN to a test line in Germany. Before the equipment was installed in Sweden, we tested the communication with SCADA/MES, traceability data, takt and flow logic, as well as statuses, sensor values and production counters. What would otherwise have surfaced during commissioning was already fixed when the line arrived.

Documentation, knowledge transfer to your team and support after commissioning.
Experience
Proven in production
Testing of control and monitoring systems in industry, agriculture and buildings – in Sweden and internationally.
Automotive manufacturing
Virtual commissioning of a PLC gateway (Siemens S7-1500) against a test line in Germany via VPN – part of an installation with over 300 connected machine cells and robot stations.
Dairy automation and robotics
System testing of a complete rotary milking system: milking interface, visualisation and herd management software. New versions were tested in the lab and then on pilot farms in Sweden, Germany, Ireland and the UK ahead of the global launch.
Building automation
FAT and SAT on the supplier side. Delivered before Robsonus was founded, when Robert Wszolek worked as an automation engineer at a system integrator.

FAQ
Common technical questions
What is virtual commissioning?
The PLC program runs against a simulated or remotely connected plant before the physical installation. Logic, signals and communication are tested in advance, so on-site commissioning is about verifying – not about hunting for faults.
Do we need to buy simulation software?
Usually not. We choose tools to suit the project: for many tests, the simulation included in TIA Portal, GX Works and CODESYS or simulated tags in Ignition is enough. More advanced models are used when the plant requires it.
Can you test for a machine builder outside Sweden?
Yes. Tests can be run remotely over a secure connection (VPN) to your test line, and on site at FAT or SAT.
Can you act as an independent party at FAT and SAT?
Yes. We prepare test cases and reports based on the requirements specification and document deviations, whether we represent the supplier or the customer.
