SCADA systems, Ignition and WinCC – design, integration and migration
We design, integrate and migrate SCADA systems for industrial facilities, buildings and infrastructure – with Ignition or Siemens WinCC as the platform. From process visualisation and alarm management to OPC UA/MES integration and secure remote access.
Robsonus is listed in Inductive Automation's official integrator directory and is a certified partner of Autic, Ignition's Nordic distributor.
Common situations we help with
- A legacy SCADA system (e.g. Citect/AVEVA) needs migration without production stops
- The system needs to be extended while the plant keeps running
- Communication between PLC, SCADA and MES is unstable or undocumented
- Customers, insurers or NIS2 are imposing new OT security requirements
- Remote access to SCADA/HMI needs to be secured in line with IEC 62443
- Operators lack a clear process overview or are flooded with alarms
- The previous supplier is no longer available and documentation is incomplete
Platforms
We are vendor-independent, with particularly deep expertise in the platforms where we have years of project experience and relevant certifications.
Ignition (Inductive Automation)
Our primary platform for new SCADA projects – Ignition 8.3. Web-based interfaces, alarm management, trending, historian integration and reporting in a single system.

SCADA in the TIA Portal environment for Siemens-based plants. Certification: Simatic WinCC SCADA (Siemens AB, Stockholm).
Beijer iX
HMI panels and web-based visualisation – as operator interfaces in smaller SCADA installations or as a complement to Ignition/WinCC. Certification: CODESYS with Beijer X2 panel.
OPC UA/MES integration
Connectivity between control systems, SCADA and higher-level systems over OPC UA – traceability and production data all the way to MES.
What we deliver
The full lifecycle of your SCADA system – from a new system to migration and ongoing development.
- New SCADA systems and HMI panels
- Product and process traceability – integration with MES via OPC UA
- Alarm management and alarm rationalisation
- Historian and trending
- Reporting and production dashboards (MES)
- Process visualisation and operator interfaces
- BMS dashboards for building operations
- Web-based visualisation and secure remote access
Migration from legacy platforms
We take over existing systems built in AVEVA Plant SCADA (Citect) or other legacy platforms and migrate them to a modern Ignition-based solution – mapping tags, alarms, historian and visualisation, with operational continuity throughout the transition and a documented rollback plan if anything goes wrong. We do not offer ongoing development or maintenance of Citect/AVEVA as a platform; our focus is migration away from them.
OT security in line with IEC 62443
PLC, SCADA and HMI systems control physical equipment – a breach can halt production or damage the plant, not just leak data. We harden control systems in line with IEC 62443 principles and build security in from the start, not as a layer bolted on afterwards.
- Separate networks for production and office, isolated line networks and structured addressing – with defined communication paths between zones
- Hardening of control systems: authentication, permissions and event logging
- Encrypted, authenticated remote access to SCADA, PLC and HMI
Experience
Proven in production
Large-scale SCADA and visualisation in demanding environments – in Sweden and internationally.
Automotive Manufacturing
Connected over 300 machine cells and robot stations to SCADA/MES via OPC UA, S7 and ISO-on-TCP, across engine machining, gearbox manufacturing and battery production. Ignition SCADA system with thousands of tags, several SQL databases and dozens of dashboards. A real-time alarm system that flags process deviations the moment they occur.
Public Buildings
Programming and commissioning of control systems for 13 climate-controlled zones – regulating temperature, humidity and CO₂ – across 12 PLCs (Mitsubishi), with energy metering via M-Bus and Modbus, fire dampers and security doors. A camera-based visitor counting system was integrated with the climate control and the doors between zones, so that occupancy per zone could be matched to the requirements of each exhibition. Delivered for one of Sweden's largest and most important museums.
Port & Marine Infrastructure
Programming and commissioning of ventilation control, room climate control and lighting systems for the entire ferry terminal and port infrastructure. Distributed I/O system controlled via Mitsubishi PLC, with energy metering via M-Bus and Modbus. Energy optimisation through calendar-scheduled operation combined with PID control.
